Dear Hilma community,
Big news!! We are excited to announce that Hilma has been acquired by The Biocodex Group—a family-owned pharmaceutical company based in France.
We started Hilma in 2020—our goal was to clean up your medicine cabinet with the most accessible, effective natural remedies on the market. For three years, we’ve been a small but mighty team of six, and we’re incredibly proud of all we’ve accomplished in that time: we’ve developed 11 natural remedies that actually work, ran 3 clinical studies, launched on shelves in Target and 100+ retailers, and connected with you—our herb-loving, label-reading community.
When we went out to raise a routine funding round earlier this year, we were introduced to The Biocodex Group, and from our first meeting with their team, it was obvious that our goals, and more importantly, our values, were completely aligned. They are true experts in the gut microbiome and have been formulating probiotics for nearly 70 years. As early pioneers of scientifically backed natural healthcare, they have established a foundation dedicated to researching the microbiome, and, similar to Hilma, they are committed to giving back to their community and planet. We know that this new home for Hilma is the perfect launchpad to build on all that we have achieved in the last 3 years.
The three of us (Hilary, Nina, and Lily), as well as our team here in Brooklyn, NY, will be staying on to continue to build Hilma. Going forward, you can expect the same commitment to product quality and efficacy, scientific research, and community—all amplified by the support of a larger organization.
