Wondering what makes Immune Support clean, powerful, and delicious? Here, we take a deep dive into the ingredients in our formula.
Vitamin C (Camu Camu)
We use a whole food source of Vitamin C in Immune Support — the camu camu berry. Camu Camu is a cherry-like fruit that grows on shrubs in swampy or flooded areas of Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and Venezuela, Camu Camu packs an impressive punch of ascorbic acid, or Vitamin C (over 50 times that of an orange!) Although the body cannot produce Vitamin C on its own, it contributes to important bodily functions such as the growth and repair of tissue and blocking damage from free radicals.*
Zinc
Zinc is an essential mineral that has been clinically shown to support immune health. Its ability to support the immune system has been of particular interest to researchers, as they have discovered that approximately 12% of the US population is at risk for Zinc deficiency. Zinc is required to activate T-cells, which is how your body regulates and controls your immune system.*
Ginger
Ginger is a member of a plant family that includes other household favorites, cardamom and turmeric. It's spicy quality is due to the presence of ketones (gingerols). Ginger has been recommended as an expectorant (clearing mucus) and it is traditionally used in teas or soups. Ginger has been clinically shown to support the immune and respiratory systems.*
Turmeric
Today, you’re probably most familiar with turmeric as the main spice in curry or as that strong flavor in those spicy detox drinks at your local juice shop. That’s mainly thanks to curcumin, one of the active compounds in turmeric that is a strong antioxidant agent. There are over 12,500 peer-reviewed articles published that support the powerful properties of turmeric, specifically calling out the ways turmeric supports the respiratory and immune systems.*
Echinacea
During Lewis and Clark’s famed expedition at the turn of the 19th century, the explorers found the Echinacea plant so powerful that they actually sent the plant and root back to President Jefferson as an important discovery. Echinacea is an herb that stimulates macrophages and other cells of the innate immune system, which ultimately have a supportive effect on the immune system.*
Ivy Leaf Extract
Ivy Leaf Extract is an herb that has been used for thousands of years, both topically and as a tincture. Today, Ivy Leaf Extract has been clinically shown to help soothe the throat and support respiratory health.*
